Uninstall WAS 8.0 product using Manage offerings Job

In this step we are going to uninstall WAS 8.0 from remote host using a job of type Manage offerings. We will also be making use of uninstall.xml response file that we collected from the remote host in the previous step.

Expand Jobs in the left navigation pane of Job manager admin console

Click Submit link

Select Manage offerings from Job Type drop-down

Click Next button

Provide the hostname in the text field next to Add button and then click on Add button to add a target

Enter the path where we have copied the response file (uninstall.xml) in the Response file field

Select “I accept the terms in the license agreements” check box

Click Next button

Click Next in Schedule the job screen

Review the summary and click Finish to submit the job

Click the refresh icon next to Status Summary label every minute and wait for the Status to change

When the Status turns green, Click on Job ID link and then click on the Status link

We can see that the Job succeeded. It has started at 22:05:46 and completed at 22:06:36. So it has taken 50 seconds to uninstall WAS 8.0 ND product.

Click Back button

Click stdOut.txt link

We can see the message that the product is uninstalled from /opt/IBM/WebSphere/AppServer directory in the target machine.

Next let us uninstall IBM Installation Manager.
