WebSphere Application Server Centralized Installation Manager – Part 7

Uninstall Installation Manager

A separate Job Type called “Uninstall IBM Installation Manager” is available and this can be used to uninstall IBM Installation Manager.

Expand Jobs in the left navigation pane of Job manager admin console

Click Submit link

Select Uninstall IBM Installation Manager in the Job type drop-down

Click Next button


Add a target using Add/Find button in the Choose job targets screen

Provide username/password for authentication, in the Choose job targets screen

Click Next button

If IBM Installation Manager is installed in the default location, then you need not provide the directory in the job parameters screen.

Click Next in Specify job parameters screen

Click Next in Schedule the job screen

Review the summary and click Finish button to submit the job

Wait for couple of minutes and click on the refresh icon

Click Job ID link

Click on the “Succeeded” link


The job has started at 08:43:12 and completed at 08:43:24. The Uninstall IBM Installation Manager job has completed in 12 seconds.

Click Back button

Click stdOut.txt link

The admin console displays the message in stdOut.txt file.

So we installed IBM Installation Manager and WAS 8.0 ND product using CIM jobs. We then uninstalled the product and Installation Manager. It is also possible to create profiles in the remote host using Manage profiles Job type.
