Error found while running in Java WebSphere MQ client application

Explanation:
An MQCONN call was issued from a client to connect to a queue manager but the attempt to establish communication failed because the queue manager did not recognise the channel name.

Example:
A client channel was created

DEFINE CHANNEL(‘CLIENT.TO.TEST.QUEUE’) +
CHLTYPE( CLNTCONN ) +
CONNAME(192.168.0.171) +
DESCR(‘WebSphere MQ client connection to server’) +
TRPTYPE( TCP ) +
QMNAME(TEST.QUEUE) +
REPLACE

Solution:
Needed to add a channel from the server to the client e.g.

DEFINE CHANNEL(‘CLIENT.TO.TEST.QUEUE’) +
CHLTYPE(SVRCONN) +
TRPTYPE(TCP) +
DESCR(‘Server connection to WebSphere MQ client’)
